The Lost Woodland
Artwork adorns the facades of three sides of Edmondson Park commuter carpark; approximately 300 meters in length by 25 meters high. The artwork is constructed from powder-coated steel , and represents trees from the lost Cumberland Woodlands. The trees depicted are varieties of Eucalypts with their recognisable silvery grey-green and umber orange foliage.
The large pixelated trees are a 21st Century approximation of the trees that once stood here. When the living trees planted along the nature strip grow tall, there will be a tension between the pixelated forms and the living forms they represent.
Rendered on the north, west and south facades of the commuter carpark in powder-coated perforated aluminum panels. To give an idea of scale, each panel is 1 meter square.
