Leppington commuter carpark

The multi-story commuter carpark at Leppington station built in 2021 is an innovative project showcasing Indigenous design and integrating sustainability features. It has the capacity for up to 1,000 car park spaces, it has 1,300 solar panels on the roof, and 10 electric vehicle charging spaces. The design for the facade was inspired by a small painting by Shane Smithers; Where Sky Meets Earth, 2021:

This artwork is about this abundant country where the generative forces of the sky and earth come together to create life. This is the place where I live, where you live, where we live, together walking on the earth, touching the sky.”

In collaboration with CCG Architects, TfNSW and AWEdwards.
